As I promised, even after a long, but productive day of meetings and preparing as I have done since last year's IEEE event in Colorado Springs, for next year's IEEE in San Antonio, I caught up with Andy just after his speech and heard whether or not the first viewing of his anticipated dust collection inaugural speech was a success.

I just caught up with Andy Winston, Sales Application Engineer, who only had a few minutes before preparing for his talk on Dust Collector Monitoring for Improved Performance.

“This will be the first time I give this paper and so it’s extra exciting. I don’t have a lot of time in the workshop, but I know I can make a big impact in a short amount of time. You see, we focus, in the rock/dust industry, so much on monitoring DP [differential pressure], emissions, and temperature. Now, these are all certainly good things to keep an eye on, but we often leave out several other critical areas to monitor, 7 other critical areas to be exact. It’s those 7 areas that I’m going to focus most of my time on, and it’s those 7 areas that can make a big impact on your plant’s ability to be a cleaner, smarter, more efficient operation. Then, I’ll wrap up with some advice on clipboard maintenance and corrective action.”

The buzz around here says Andy’s talk will be a popular one, and I’ll do my best to catch up with him as soon as he’s through with his talk.

Welcome to Chicago! We’re expecting thousands of people here at the Powder and Bulk Solids show and we’re hoping thousands more will check out the blog if they can’t be here.
